high of $ 200 within 24 hours of its release - far exceeding the first day box office collection movie

If you want to catch the start of the most successful entertainment of the year so far, you can forget Skyfall - or, indeed, the cinema. Microsoft Xbox 360 Halo shooter 4 game raised $ 220 million (£ 138m) within 24 hours of its release on Tuesday.

The figure surpasses the record for the first day of the collection of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, which earned $ 91 million at the box office in its opening July 2011. (The new Skyfall Bond movie cost $ 89 million in its first weekend, Friday and Saturday of the month.)

rivalry Halo 4 and Call of Duty are good news for game retailers. Overall, the video game sales have declined this year, the UK figures in October to nearly 30% in the same month last year. A good shootout between two of the biggest names in the game to help recover the market.
