Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 ad banned from daytime TV

The watchdog has banned an advertising TV campaign for Call of Duty:. Modern Warfare 3 which was issued on the day, saying that the scenes of New York and London under military assault were too violent for children to see
Calltelevision campaign production services from Activision, the promotion of the game, which has a certificate of 18 years, was broadcast during a game in the Premier League in the middle of the afternoon in Sky Sports 1.
Two viewers complained to the Advertising Standards Authority that the campaign should not be broadcast TV at all during the day when children can see.
One of the plaintiffs, said his children, aged two and four, were surprised by the announcement.
Activision said the TV spot was originally authorized for distribution by an 'ex-kids "restriction. This meant that there should be issued on or around programs likely to attract Persons under 16 years.
The company said it has published a revised edition of TV advertising, all the violent and threatening content removed, to allow the point of running for football. Previously, the British Board of Film Classification gave the announcement of a PG certificate, which means it could be used in windows of shops and qualified for the big picture, same if some scenes may be unsuitable for young children. However, the ASA said the campaign contains extended scenes, explosions and destruction that were accompanied by a dramatic soundtrack.
