postheadericon Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 – review

Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC, Electronic Arts, cert: 12, available now

By most accounts, the young magician 's latest cinematic adventure, a suitably dramatic and explosive end of this phenomenally popular series. The same can not be said video game version.

The climax stages Rowling 's history are rushed through at breakneck speed - non-fans will be left confused - with developer Bright Light in a seemingly constant haste to get back on the action. Heaven knows why, how it all comes down to an anemic third-person shooter to replace the weapons wands and spells are merely ammunition.

It 'sa amazing lack of inventiveness here: the box touts the ability to play as eight different characters, although all have essentially the same task, the hordes of evil magicians, strolling towards the player, her magic seems to be weaker than shoot is that the Hogwarts trained characters. Try spraying, including several lengthy chase that Harry running toward the camera require, and a section where a sign to protect others from a distance with long range magic as a spell-sniper.
