Rise of Nightmares – game preview
This game is beautiful and visceral disgust Kinect laughter and provoke in equal measure
If there is any Xbox 360 owners who remain convinced that Microsoft produces Kinect to win only the core casual crowd, they should take a look at Rise of Nightmares. Developed by Sega, this is a particularly nasty game of horror and survival graph, plot-oriented as the Resident Evil franchise and the movie Hostel. It also represents a premium of bloody dismemberment, flying body fluids and cruel, wet slapping sounds.
The field is quite simple, the player slips into the role of a tourist on vacation somewhere in Europe with his wife. The two soon knocked out and kidnapped by a local eccentric who played in the detection of a demo that I live in a massive medieval dungeon. The action begins with the player waking up and taking in their surroundings. In no time they will be against their hijackers on them, stroking the neck of a hysterical man, who was strapped to a chair. When the unfortunate man begs and pleads for his life, which brings a laugh go psycho ax down on his right hand, cutting it off completely.
"Why, why did you do that?" Walking the victim as claret throw his arm.
"Why not?" Cracking the psycho laughter and then bury the hatchet in his victim 's skull with a sickening.
The action will be briefly interrupted by a phone call, and \ catcher player away on an urgent matter mentioned above, so in the company of a zombie nurse. It's easy to start with a character on the screen, which then frees up the player and the two of them, sent his release from prison. Laughter is.
The control system of Rise of Nightmares is a snap to master - mind you, this is a title Kinect, so if he was not there '\ d be a problem. Players can rotate in an arc of 360 degrees of rotation of the shoulder to the right or left, they move one step forward and one step back brings back the game. The player floats your sights on any open ports that want or can use your foot to kick in when the warning appears on the screen above.
It 'sa bit of delay between the player' s movement and its actions in the game as you navigate through the endless, mysterious corridors may have been difficult. However, the game is how to avoid it, for certain segments of the player's progression in Rails, the player simply raise their right hands when requested, and its forward motion is always very good.
When they 're not walk or look around the rest of the players' s time spent ill-treatment of the endless parade of horrible monsters that stand between them and the prison 's output. This is where the fun as Rise of Nightmares offers the player a most cruel enemies Shipping starts arsenal. You start with a stick, but it's not long before '\ r with brass knuckles, ice saws available, saws and cast iron calipers.
The player uses weapons like in real life. If the player takes the air to them the true character of the game with the knuckles. A blow or lateral movements caused her character to cut and chop saw enemies with ice. The player has to pretend it 're the handles to activate an invisible tool, the gun with his fists together, clamp the screen in an enemy \ face Sting. The mountain is so simple to use, keep both hands before you, as you would if you were holding a real chainsaw, and easy to walk into something that can be attacked.
The battles in Rise of Nightmares isn 't exactly complex, but that' s wonderfully visceral and fun guilty. If the player hits the opponent with an ice saw, the sounds of tearing flesh and squirts wet usher forth from the TV speakers. If they rotate in an arc with a chainsaw, they 'll hear marrow and injected wet. Opponents in most cases are fairly direct in their attacks, they shuffle to the player and lazy to beat them. The exception to this rule is a monster, the acid in vomit, the player can 's face, and when that happens, the camera is completely hidden by a puddle of yellow liquid, which removes the player to move his hands.
In proof of the demo I played Rise of Nightmares isn 't smart, and it isn' tt deep, but should keep the players 'against them. This is a game for the laughter and disgust is to provoke the same degree. Not You can convince someone to sign up for a unit Kinect, but those players who may already have a hands-free interface to be seduced by his cruel delight. After all, how often you use pliers to \ a zombie's nose off?
